Broadband Technology offers a higher bandwidth connection to the internet. It offers a higher speed connection than that of a standard telephone line. The greater the bandwidth the connection the more data can be transmitted.

What Is Gps?

GPS or Global Positioning System was developed by the U. S. Department of Defence during the 1970s as a better way for its military personnel to navigate and to get more accurate coordinates.

Radio Waves

In 1888 Heinrich Hertz, a German Scientist demonstrated that radio waves could be made by varying electric current but it was not until 1901 that Guglielmo Marconi sent the first long distance radio signal across the Atlantic ocean by bouncing radio waves off the ionosphere. Radio signals are two waves in one. The first is a high frequency carrier wave, the second is the information that the wave has to carry.

Communication Channels

There are two types of communication channels. The physical channel uses sending and receiving devices such as wire or cable and wireless which uses air. Physical ConnectionsThese connecions include twisted pair, coaxial cable and fibre optic cable.
